As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more infused in our everyday lives, we need to ensure that students, teachers, and administrators develop the skills and understanding required to use this technology thoughtfully and ethically. This is known as AI literacy. Like any good game, you need the right strategy to level up.
What is AI Literacy TECH-Tac-Toe?
Lindy created AI Literacy TECH–Tac–Toe to help both you and your students up your AI literacy game! This activity presents nine AI experiences arranged in a tic-tac-toe grid. The goal is simple: complete three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) to unlock your AI literacy achievement.
Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the vast landscape of AI tools, educators and students can focus on three connected experiences that build understanding progressively. Each block offers hands-on experience with different AI applications, from text and image generation to music creation and 3D modeling. Each completed square levels you up in different AI literacy skills.

Important Game Rules
Many of these tools are free and do not require a login, therefore should be FERPA compliant. Those that require account creation are noted. Before using those tools with your students, make sure the tool is in compliance with local, state, and federal policies and laws.
