The Summer Learning Series 2026 is one of my favorite events of the year because it’s designed specifically to help teachers recharge, learn something new, and head into the new school year with fresh ideas and practical strategies. This year, I brought two topics that I’ve been passionate about for a while now.

This session was part of the Shake Up Learning All Access pass. We dove into why video has become an essential tool for educators, not just for student engagement, but for communication, instruction, and professional presence. The good news? You are more ready than you think. I walked through what it looks like to step into your video era with confidence, even if the camera makes you nervous.
July 9 — Tired of Student AI Slop? Solve It with the Assessment Puzzle Toolkit
This session was free and open to everyone. If AI-generated work makes assessment feel impossible, this one was for you. I shared the Assessment Puzzle Toolkit, a practical framework for designing assessments that actually reveal what students know, even in a world where AI can write an essay in seconds.
