We keep having the wrong conversation about technology in schools. The instinct to ban the tools, block the apps, and act like AI doesn’t exist isn’t protecting students. It’s leaving them unprepared for a world where AI is already everywhere — not just on a screen, but at the checkout counter, in the car, in the building you walk into every morning.
My argument is simple: there is no such thing as digital citizenship. It’s just citizenship. The line between digital and physical interaction is already gone. And by 2050, the line between digital, physical, and biological will be gone too. The move isn’t to hide from technology. It’s to educate for it.
